Mrs. Amanda Solis

My name is Amanda Solis and I am a Special Education Teacher. Our family moved to Colorado Springs in 2008. My husband and I have been married for 22 years and have two sons. They both attended Skyview Middle School and went on to graduate from Vista Ridge High School.  The world of Special Education became a part of our lives when our youngest son was diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome, Autism and Epilepsy when he was a child. 

This is now my 6th year as a Special Education Teacher and I was given the opportunity to lead the Special Education RISE program.    The RISE program supports students in building independence and increasing social communication skills amongst their peers. My goal in leading the RISE program is to bridge the gap between Special and General Education, increasing acceptance and inclusion, and support students based on their individual needs. 

Since becoming a Skyview Eagle this school year, I have felt support from SMS leaders, positivity throughout the building, and valued as an educator.
